Recognition of Professional Equivalence
Based on the presidential decree 38/2010 as amended by the enactment of laws 4093 | 2012 (Government Gazette 222 Issue A ‘), its supplementation with the Acts of Legislative Content (Government Gazette 229 Issue A’ and Government Gazette 237 Issue A ‘) and its amendment by Law 4111 | 2013 (Government Gazette 18 Issue A ‘) all University Degrees issued by Universities of EU countries. are now professionally equivalent to those awarded by Greek universities or TEI, as long as the titles are:
- at least three years of study and study, in the case of a first cycle degree,
- less than three years of study and study in the case of a postgraduate specialization diploma and
- at least three years of study and study in the case of a doctoral degree,
That is, the holders of these will have the same employment rights as the holders of Greek degrees. This recognition is done through the Ministry of Education, ATEEN, responsible for examining applications for recognition of professional qualifications.
Holders of degrees from European Universities, if they have received recognition from the Ministry of Education, are accepted by ASEP according to the P.D. 44 of 2005, eg Government Gazette 6 / 27-10-2015 (page 307)
Recognition Procedure
- Application form for the "Recognition of Professional Equivalence"
- Proof of citizenship (copy of identity card or passport).
- Higher education title.
- Detailed score from the institution that awarded the degree which should include the total duration of studies and the total number of courses attended by the applicant per year.
- Curriculum (syllabus).
- Payment in favor of the State 100 Euros.
The process of recognizing professional equivalence takes an average of 4 months. For more information, visit the relevant website of the Ministry of Education:
